Date Number 2

I'm sorry I haven't posted in what seems like forever! No need for me to go into details except saying that my life has been hectic. I want to apologise for multiple reasons, one being gone for so long, two this post if it's a little shorter then normal and three if there are any errors or if it doesn't make any sense.

I quickly wrote this out today after work in hopes of giving you all something to read so it is basically like a first draft and I apologise for that. I hope I still have some readers out there and I will post again shortly!

Ambush

So I'm going to have to cut back on my posting days from three times to twice a week, most like Mondays and Thursdays. My life has been hectic lately and I haven't had that much a chance to write in my free time.

When I entered Emily’s house I found her eagerly waiting for me to return, I could tell by the look on her face she wanted me to tell her everything and I decided to mess with her.

“How was it?” she questioned as I headed for the kitchen looking for a bottle of wine, she raised her eyebrows at me. “That bad?”

“That bad Em, why did I agree to this” I groaned while pouring myself a generous glass.

“What happened?” I ignored her question as I headed for the living room and curled up in the arm chair. “Tay tell me what happened, this is Dom we’re talking about he can’t have done anything that bad and you two have always had this chemistry between you”

It was then I couldn’t take it any longer, I begun laughing and a glare appeared on her face. “Oh come on Em it was too easy”

“You’re tacky and I hate you” I couldn’t help but grin at her reference, School of Rock was a movie we both binged watch when we were younger, at one point we knew the movie word for word.

“No you don’t. Do you want to know what happened or not?” the glare finally disappeared and she grinned allowing me to launch into the events of what happened tonight.

I could tell she was enjoying my story telling but the massive smile on her face, “I told you things would be fine Tay and he was a true gentlemen tonight, I don’t know why you thought differently”

I rolled my eyes at her, there was a part of me that believed she was only on Dom’s side because she was mad at Jake for cheating on me. Hell back when I was dating Dom she was mad at him because I was hurt at the way our relationship went.

“Emily don’t start on this, Dom’s actions isn’t why I was nervous about how tonight was going to go, I’m more worried about how everything is going to play out since I’m not exactly in the most ideal situation”

This time Emily rolled her eyes at me, “you can’t tell me you weren’t worried about him pressuring you into having sex with him, you and I both know he knows exactly what buttons to push so you’re begging for sex instead of rejecting his offer”

“Fine, so maybe I was a little worried and he said it’s been a while, he was even teasing me in the car home”

“Tay he cares about you and is trying, I doubt he will do anything you don’t want to in hopes of keeping you” I didn’t say anything in response to her comment, mainly because I didn’t know what to say.

I knew what Emily was saying about Dom was right, he wouldn’t do anything to risk losing me considering of how much he was risking to win me over. He was risking his lifelong friendship with Jake over me, something I don’t know if I could do with Emily.

As much as the friendship between Dom and Jake baffles me due to Dom letting me cheat on Jake, even more so with him, it makes me all wonder how close they actually are. There are so many things that make me question their friendship but then there are other times when I realise just how close they are, life when Dom was covering for Jake about his own cheating.

I finished my glass of wine and quickly said goodnight to Emily before heading towards the bathroom to get ready for bed.

After quickly showering and brushing my teeth I entered my room and picked up my phone noticing I had a miss call from Jake, I hesitantly rang him with an uneasy feeling in my stomach.

There was a part of me hoping that Jake had seen me out with Dom tonight to make me having to tell him everything, but then there was another part of me hoping that he hadn’t seen us and this was a random phone call because I don’t want to hurt Jake over this information.

“Hey Tay”

“Hey sorry I missed your called”

“No it’s fine, I was just hoping you were free so we could go out one night this week”

I was silent after that, I didn’t know what to say to that considering what I was doing tonight and with who, hell if things were different with Dom I wouldn’t have even hesitated about going back to his and having mind blowing sex.

“Tay you there?” he questioned and I could hear the worry in his voice, he was worried about losing me but hadn’t we already agreed on the fact that what we had wasn’t healthy?

“Yes sorry I’m here Jake, can I get back to you, I have some late meetings for work and I don’t have my day planner on me right now?”

“Of course just let me know, I miss you Tay”

“I miss you too Jake”

It was true, I did miss Jake and I know it sounds weird but what we had was comfortable and reassuring. I might not have been able to have my sexual satisfied with him but everything else? Yes everything else with Jake was met to a key, I was happy in that aspect and the fact that I wasn’t coming home to Jake every night did hurt no matter what we’ve gone through and I know if I don’t choose Jake in the end it will hurt both of us.

The call between Jake and I ended shortly after that, we were just catching each other up on lives like we normally would have and I couldn’t help but catch a sight of Emily as she tried to sneak past my door as if she wasn’t listening to the conversation.

“Emily” I warned her and it didn’t take long for her to come back into view.

“Thought you were going to sleep Tay” she flashed me a smile but I knew it was fake, I narrowed my eyes at her and it dropped. “Sorry, I couldn’t help it”

“It’s fine, I would have told you that Jake called, surely you know that without you through all of this I would go insane” Emily came and sat down beside and I rested my head on her shoulder.

“You know my opinion on this, you know I prefer Dom over Jake but I also know you Tay, I know you won’t just let Jake go without telling him the truth or even giving him a chance to show that maybe he can change”

“I know” I spoke softly and at first Emily was quiet making me think she had nothing else to say but Emily always has something to say.

“Look Tay I’ve stayed quiet on this but I need to put it out in the air, I honestly don’t think Jake will change enough to make you happy, yes he might change so he’s no longer chasing girls down at the bar but I don’t think he will be able to give you want during sex. Some people aren’t into that sort of thing, I’m not and I wouldn’t want some guy to push me into that sort of thing so why would you push Jake?” I pulled away from her and stared at her, I hadn’t thought of it like that and right now I felt like the biggest bitch for constantly being on Jake’s case about it.

I placed my elbows on my legs and pressed my face into my hands and it wasn’t long until Emily had a hand on my back soothing rubbing me as if she knew this bit of information would do this.

Date Night

The doorbell rang and I was nervous as hell, I still didn’t know if I was doing the right thing by agreeing to tonight but either was I was slightly excited about it all.

The thing I was worried about the most was if one or all of us was going to get hurt in the end, if I chose Jake Dom would be hurt and I chose Dom Jake would be hurt and if I chose neither all three of us would be hurt but I had to start somewhere.

I pulled on the dress and slipped on my heels before heading downstairs, I couldn’t help myself when I stopped around the corner and listened in on what Emily was saying.

“You better not hurt her again otherwise I will hurt you” Emily threatened and I couldn’t help but laugh.

Emily was even shorter then I was but man did she have a temper, it also didn’t help that her parents made her take martial arts classes as child instead of the usual sport that the rest of us did. It was something we all knew about and it made her more intimidating then one would think.

I heard the male laugh and a smile instantly appeared on my face as I stepped around to come face to face with them both, Emily didn’t look to happy at my laugh interrupting her threat.

“Have fun tonight Tay, I love you” Emily smiled at me and kissed my cheek before turning and leaving us alone, clearly not too annoyed at me interrupting her.

“You look beautiful Tay” I turned and smiled at Dom.

Both Dom and Jake were silent after that night when everything came out and Dom was the one that reached out first, he asked for one night to prove everything could be different if I were to choose him and at first I was hesitant as to if I wanted to accept the date.

There was so many other things we had to take into consideration, if something were to start between Dom and I then we had to come up with an explanation to Jake as to how everything started and there was too much history with Jake to not be worried about hurting him.

“Thank you, you don’t look so bad yourself” I smirked at him and he shook his head at me, he looked incredibly handsome in the simple black pants and shirt.

I stepped closer to him and wrapped my arms around him and he instantly did the same, I breathed in the familiar scent that was always surrounding him and in that moment I missed these moments, the moments during our arrangement.

“Before I forget these are for you” he pulled away and picked up a bouquet of flowers that were sitting on the table.

I smiled at him as I took them taking in the flowers, they were gladiolas, my favourite flowers something that I had no idea he knew about me. Normally when he turned up at the house with flowers with they were just a generic bouquet, nothing special about them.

“Thank you they’re stunning Dom”

“Anything for you” he smiled at me as he down and kissed my cheek.

“I’ll take them” I laughed as I heard Emily’s voice coming from the kitchen and it wasn’t long until she rushed over and grabbed the flowers heading back not even allowing us to say anything.

“What is with her tonight?” Dom questioned.

“I’m not too sure, I think a part of her want’s this whole thing to be over with so I’m back to normal”

“I want you to be back to normal as well Tay” he cupped my face with his hands before leaning down and softly kissing my forehead, I smiled at him thinking that maybe I could be happy with him again. “And the other part?”

“The other part of her wants tonight to work, she thinks I should pick you over Jake”

“I want you to pick me over Jake” he grinned at me

“Of course you do but you know that if I do pick you we’re going to have to tell Jake something” I pointed out what we had both been ignoring and a dark look crossed his face.

“Come on we should go and make our reservation” he linked his fingers with mine and gave me a slight tug to start walking.

I knew we couldn’t ignore the issue of Jake and what would happen, we had to talk about this at one point and I knew it would be hard for Dom, hell it would be hard for me as well but we had to if this was going to go somewhere.

Dinner was amazing, I don’t know how Dom did it but the restaurant was perfect. It was this little Greek place that I had never heard of downtown, the food divine and when I asked how he found it and he said that he had an ample amount of restaurants up his sleeve due to many client meetings.

I was surprised at easy it was for the two of us to talk, Jake wasn’t brought up again and as much as I worried about things were going to go if things did progress with Dom I knew now wasn’t the time to bring it up again.

“Thank you again for giving me this chance Tay” I looked up at him and gave him a smile.

We were currently walking through the local park letting our dinner settle and I knew I needed it, I really did eat too much.

“You’re welcome Dom, I wouldn’t have if I didn’t want to try” I stopped walking and pulled on his arm to pull him closer to me.

“I know this whole situation is fucked up and less than ideal but we will work it out Tay, I just didn’t want that conversation to ruin tonight” he spoke as he wrapped his arms around me and I pressed my face into his chest.

“Then let’s not, I’m really enjoying tonight” I pulled away slightly and looked up at him and flashed him a smile.

One of his hands moved to my neck and he lightly stroked my cheek as he leaned down to kiss me, it started off gentle but it changed when I gripped his hair with my fingers. The hand was still on my back pressed me closer into him while the one on my neck tightened its grip slightly.

It wasn’t until he nipped at my bottom lip and a moan escaped my lips that he pulled away and both of us remembered where we were. “Sorry got carried away” he spoke huskily before nuzzling my neck.

We stood like that for a couple of moments, at first I was confused as to why he hadn’t pulled away or said anything but it wasn’t until I shifted and felt the bludge in his pants. I smirked at him and he frowned.

“Don’t start Tay it’s been a while” he grumbled and I couldn’t help but laugh at him, all he did was grip my hair and tilt my head back to face him. “I said don’t start Tay” he growled and it was a mix between him being angry and playful.

“Yes sir” I grinned at him and he let of my hair and gripped my waist giving me the hint that he wasn’t truly angry with me.

“Come on let’s get you home before I decide to take you against that tree” he threatened and I gulped knowing he wasn’t bluffing.

We might not have had sex out in the public just like this before but when we were together last time we took a holiday together and we ended up having sex on the balcony in broad daylight, something that got both of us off.

We were silent the whole way home but it was comfortable, the thing that was distracting me the whole ride was his hand on my thigh lightly stroking me and it was enough to turn me on. When I looked over at him there was a smirk on his face and I knew he was doing it on purpose.

“You are taking me back to Emily’s aren’t you?” I questioned and he looked my way for a second before focusing back on the road.

“Well I was hoping” he spoke as his hand slipped higher up my thigh and my breath hitched when his finger brushed along my thong.

I pushed his hand away and smirked at him, “nope I don’t have sex on the first date”

“Oh I remember Tay I was just hoping you’d have changed” his hand moved back to my knee as he continued to drive me home.

It was in that moment that things were certainly changing between the two of us, Dom knew exactly how to turn me on and knew there was a point that once crossed I would give in and have sex with him. Towards the end of our relationship it was regularly crossed.

“Thank you for tonight Dom, I had fun and thank you for not pushing the whole sex thing” I leaned over and softly kissed him.

“I told you things could change, if you say no I won’t push it” he caressed my cheek before softly kissing my forehead.

I had a smile on my face as I climbed out of the car and headed inside knowing full and well that Emily would be waiting to hear all the details.

Can I Continue To Sit Back & Watch? (Emily's POV)

I was standing here playing with Taylor’s hair twisting it into knots and pulling it out of her face while babbling on about what is happening in the office for me knowing full well that she isn’t even the slightest bit interested in what I was saying, or even listening for that matter.

I didn’t know if I agreed with what her plan was for tonight but when she told me about it she seemed happy and that’s all I wanted for my best friend, for her to be happy.

It had been a while since everything came out into the open, the truth about what Jake was doing and he found out what she was doing, well everything except who because Jake and Dom still seem to be as close as ever.

I’ve voiced my opinion on the whole Jake vs. Dom thing and I still stand by my decision of Taylor choosing Dom, he makes her happy and if he could make her happy when they were hiding their relationship I would love to see how happy he could make her if their relationship was public.

I’ve only known about Dom having feelings towards Taylor for a couple of months, it was funny how it all came out but after seeing the way Dom looked at Taylor when Jake wasn’t around was enough for me to realise there was more in it for him to have the arrangement with her. I questioned him about it and at first he denied everything but then he remembered that I was helping Taylor cover up and he told me that feelings had developed.

I saw what happened to Taylor the last time her and Dom tried dating, she wasn’t happy because everything that was slightly romantic that he did at the beginning to try and win her over was lost, they stopped going on dates, he stopped bringing flowers or gifts home for her, all that was left was sex.

I knew she was enjoying the sex but she wasn’t happy in the relationship, it took a couple of weeks but I eventually told her to voice her concerns to Dom and she was relieved when he was feeling the same.

She hadn’t told me as such but all this was of concern when she thought of giving Dom another shot, I could see it written across her face every time I asked her what her thoughts were on giving him another shot or even when one of the girls mentioned him.

All of this aside there was still Jake, I knew she still loved him and I knew she was still hurt over what he did to ruin what they had. I never understood their relationship, I didn’t understand how two people who loved each other could also hurt each other as much as they did.

Jake was constantly chasing girls in hopes of having sex with them and Taylor was regularly going to Dom to get what she couldn’t from Jake. I knew I couldn’t talk because of my own unorthodox relationships but I wasn’t in love with any of the married men, I knew what I was doing and I knew they were married.

When I first heard what Jake was doing behind Taylor’s back I was shocked, I truly believed that he loved her and I couldn’t understand why he did what he did. Once the shock wore off I was furious, I was furious that someone had hurt my best friend and I wanted to give him a piece of my mind but Taylor requested that I didn’t.

It had been a while since everything went down and this wasn’t usual for our friends, when Taylor and Jake started dating our friendship group merged and we regularly had what we jokingly called ‘family dinners’. There were usually ten of us that got together, sometimes there were more depending on who was dating who at the time.

“Tell me again what you think about all of this Emily” Taylor’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts and I looked at her through the mirror.

“I have Tay, countless times. I think you’re rushing things but I also still stand by what I said on the whole team Jake vs. team Dom”

“But Sarah and Penny”

“Sarah and Penny don’t know the full story about what’s going on, they know Jake cheated on you and you cheated on him as well but I think if they knew about Dom they would be more understanding” I tried to reason with her.

For some reason Sarah and Penny were team Jake now after hearing that Taylor was cheating as well, I don’t know why they changed their minds but they have. I knew they didn’t understand that things had changed between Dom and Taylor because of their arrangement and if it was going to go Taylor’s way they would never know but still, I knew everything and I knew Dom was the better one suited for her.

Taylor let out a breath and hung her head causing a strand of hair to slip from my fingers, I let out a sigh of frustration as she spun around to face me.

“Please…” she pleaded me with me, I hesitantly took a step back and sat down on the bed.

“Fine but it’s all stuff you’ve heard before. Yes I know you love Jake and you were hurt that he ruined what you both had, I know you are both willing to change to make your relationship work. I’m the last person to be giving relationship advice but is what he asking something you can give up? As for Dom, I’m behind him 100% Tay. Dom makes you happy, I can see that as clear as day and I understand your concerns about getting back together with him because of what happened last time but Tay it’s been years since you two first dated, you know each other better and he is asking for the chance to prove that it will be different.”

She spun around not saying anything, I didn’t expect her too in fact even if she did say anything I knew her responses.

1)      I love Jake and after everything we’ve been through we deserve to make it work.

2)      I don’t have to make any compromises with Dom.

3)      They can both go fuck themselves.

Mind you I haven’t heard that third response since tonight came to the light of day, ever since it’s mostly been the first two and I’m hoping after tonight it will only be one.

“I don’t want to hurt either of them Emily” she spoke shocking me, I haven’t heard this before but I knew she was thinking it. No matter what happens someone is going to get hurt in the end and the only thing that matters to me is that Taylor doesn’t get hurt.

“Tay, Dom knows what he is getting into with this whole him and Jake battle and Jake, well he knows there is a chance you won’t want to continue a relationship with him but at some point you are going to have to hurt someone just please promise me you will do what makes you happy” I pinned the last strand of her hair in place and when I looked at her with a smile I noticed the tears running down her cheek.

“It’s not too late to cancel Tay” I spun her around and wiped away the tears being careful not ruin the make-up I carefully applied.

“No I want to do this” she gave me a watery smile just as the doorbell rang.

“Guess it is too late to cancel, you get dressed and I will answer the door.” I gave her an encouraging smile as I stood up and headed for the front door wondering just how tonight was going to plan out.
